ASUS RT-N66U admin interface not accessible following firmware update

My PC is is hard-wired into the 66U but that doesn't work. @Tech9 yeah I will reset and re-config as you say. Funny the ASUS itself only offered the 52711. I noticed afterwards when surfing the support site that it was still several updates behind. I was surprised to see them knowing the N66U...

ASUS RT-N66U admin interface not accessible following firmware update

Needed a Media Bridge and my N66U B1 has been working well for that purpose, but today I went-in to the admin page (using http://192.168.1.2/Main_Login.asp as I always have) and found New Firmware Available, in my case 3.0.0.4_382_52711 where I'd been running 52272 before. The upgrade appeared...

    Running Asus routers on battery

I got this CyberPower telecom UPS for <$30 bucks but have never used it. Maybe I should fire it up for grins. Or izzit underpowered--dunno as I'm not at my ASUS location atm: Here's one:

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52294 (2025/10/28)

Went to my remote house again with my laptop, having failed (or so I thought) with my iPad earlier, and was surprised to learn it had updated, both primary and node AC86Us. Dunno how it said "failed" earlier but I try not to argue with success. :p

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52294 (2025/10/28)

I've now tried again to update my router, this time "in-person and on-site" at my remote house and it still doesn't work, but I have to now assume that it is due to my [vacation home] location being in my Spectrum digital cable ISP service being in "seasonal status" mode which restricts data...

    Keep Connect "router rebooter"

Yikes Bill I'm sorry--I read ch0wch0w's post having come from another thread about my router--so I was referring (improperly) to my router. Very sorry, I will edit.

    Keep Connect "router rebooter"

EDIT: IGNORE! I improperly responded about my ASUS router! Where did you read that? I don't have any "subscription" nor do I even login to the iOS "ASUS Router" app, and I can access and view/control/adjust it locally or remotely, by iPhone, iPad, or Windows/Mac PC. It just works.

    Keep Connect "router rebooter"

When I surfed on this it seemed the consensus was that regular reboots were good for clearing-away garbage (I'm simplifying of course). "For every expert there is an equal and opposite expert". I don't do this myself but I do have a client or two (out of ~40) that go away and come-back to life...

    Keep Connect "router rebooter"

Just chiming-in as an MSN switch user (in two locations) and AFAICT the Keep Connect has good functionality for the price, so I was gonna say "GO FOR IT!". These MSN sws are $105 and have two outlets so I can separately control my Modem from my ASUS router:

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52294 (2025/10/28)

While I respect your opinion of course, mine are not broken, so I'm not fixing them. Especially when they work virtually 100% of the time i.e. there's no fiddling at all which frankly surprises me i.e. I'd been warned Aimesh is not perfect, but I've not found that to be the case.

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52294 (2025/10/28)

Yeah I read here early on about hardware problems and so long as mine have worked fine I've not seen a need to spend the $$ on new. An unhappy side issue with my failed update attempts has been that all my custom client icons & names got blown-away, damn.

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52294 (2025/10/28)

Having now tried numerous times unsuccessfully to update from 51967 (tried both iOS app and remote login) I hafta ask if anyone else has had trouble with this. Yes I'm remote from it and in the absence of an idea here I will have to try in person in about two weeks.

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

Got the GlobalMe Duo Turbo and its auto-connection capability told me the best available connection was AT&T. It worked. But it doesn't afaict show other carriers that AT&T might have won-out over, which was something I was curious about. For sure the next time I have a complete failure i.e...

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

Jailbreak. That's it. I did it to an iPhone many years ago but not recently.

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

The Glocalme device is less than $150--I guess I will give it a go and see for myself how its "magic" works. Thanks to all for helping me with this.
