    Needed a Media Bridge and my N66U B1 has been working well for that purpose, but today I went-in to the admin page (using http://192.168.1.2/Main_Login.asp as I always have) and found New Firmware Available, in my case 3.0.0.4_382_52711 where I'd been running 52272 before.     Went to my remote house again with my laptop, having failed (or so I thought) with my iPad earlier, and was surprised to learn it had updated, both primary and node AC86Us. Dunno how it said "failed" earlier but I try not to argue with success. :p

    I've now tried again to update my router, this time "in-person and on-site" at my remote house and it still doesn't work, but I have to now assume that it is due to my [vacation home] location being in my Spectrum digital cable ISP service being in "seasonal status" mode which restricts data...

    EDIT: IGNORE! I improperly responded about my ASUS router! :oops: Where did you read that? I don't have any "subscription" nor do I even login to the iOS "ASUS Router" app, and I can access and view/control/adjust it locally or remotely, by iPhone, iPad, or Windows/Mac PC. It just works.

    When I surfed on this it seemed the consensus was that regular reboots were good for clearing-away garbage (I'm simplifying of course). "For every expert there is an equal and opposite expert". I don't do this myself but I do have a client or two (out of ~40) that go away and come-back to life...

    Just chiming-in as an MSN switch user (in two locations) and AFAICT the Keep Connect has good functionality for the price, so I was gonna say "GO FOR IT!". These MSN sws are $105 and have two outlets so I can separately control my Modem from my ASUS router:

    While I respect your opinion of course, mine are not broken, so I'm not fixing them. Especially when they work virtually 100% of the time i.e. there's no fiddling at all which frankly surprises me i.e. I'd been warned Aimesh is not perfect, but I've not found that to be the case.

    Yeah I read here early on about hardware problems and so long as mine have worked fine I've not seen a need to spend the $$ on new. An unhappy side issue with my failed update attempts has been that all my custom client icons & names got blown-away, damn.

    Having now tried numerous times unsuccessfully to update from 51967 (tried both iOS app and remote login) I hafta ask if anyone else has had trouble with this. Yes I'm remote from it and in the absence of an idea here I will have to try in person in about two weeks.

    The Glocalme device is less than $150--I guess I will give it a go and see for myself how its "magic" works. Thanks to all for helping me with this.
