MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

Got the GlobalMe Duo Turbo and its auto-connection capability told me the best available connection was AT&T. It worked. But it doesn't afaict show other carriers that AT&T might have won-out over, which was something I was curious about. For sure the next time I have a complete failure i.e...

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

Jailbreak. That's it. I did it to an iPhone many years ago but not recently.

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

The Glocalme device is less than $150--I guess I will give it a go and see for myself how its "magic" works. Thanks to all for helping me with this.

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

I believe it's the former; some sort of proprietary "cloud SIM" magic which sorts available carriers and picks the strongest one. You buy data for it according to the country you want to use it in. It does also have a SIM slot so I guess if their cloudSIM doesn't work you can buy one locally...

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

What kind of phone does that? My iPhones do not, afaik. To be perhaps a bit clearer, we've twice now lost not only our Spectrum digital cable, but also our Spectrum Mobile iPhone service, which seems to ride on Verizon towers. Elsewhere I've learned that Spectrum probably does "backhaul"...

MiFi device that identifies available cellular signals?

I've been looking a a MiFi hotspot device to use as backup when my Internet goes down. It seems most MiFi devices require a provider's SIM (and contract) but at least Glocalme makes one https://www.glocalme.com/product/duoturbo/ that does not require a SIM. I have surfed and surfed and watched...

Apparent problem when using the Wireless MAC Filter

I will only say that I recently had a gizmo that only worked on the 2.4GHz band, and would not work with my combined 2.4/5 SSID, and the solution was to add it to the 5GHz REJECTED filter. So when the gizmo fires-up it is rejected from even trying to connect via 5GHz. I did this with a couple...

Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51529

I have an AC86U as my main router and a second one in AImesh mode. Am pleased to see updates in March and again this week, and that updates are so easy. I'm remote from the summer house where these are in service but have had no trouble accessing remotely and clicking Firmware Upgrade. After 5...

What are the optimal settings for my AC86U Router?

I can tell you that I bought two AC86U on sale in July, having surfed on it but somehow missing all the bad reports here. They have been running beautifully in AiMesh mode and solved any/all of the problems I'd been having. Dunno the build date(s) and have vacated the house for the moment so...

Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.48260

I just jumped on this thread as a new AC86U owner and didn't realize that. Newbie mistake, sorry.

Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.48260

I use official 48620 in my two AC86U (main and node) and AiMesh works beautifully.

My Foscam R2 constantly request for DHCP lease from my RT-AC86U router

Why don't you just assert the IP address you want into the R2 and see if the traffic stops. That's what I do with all my Foscams--give them each their own fixed IP. I also assert a different Port number and have port forwarding set-up in my own AC86U so that I can see the cams from my phone...

Setting up an AIMesh node - basic help

I believe this is your mistake right here. At least, I tried my NIB AC86U router and had a similar problem. Despite being NIB it had ancient firmware and would not do the AIMesh thing. Here is what I got from Tech9. After updating, mine worked fine: "If the firmware is very old and you can't...
