    I had the same problem that you are having right now. I could not get it fixed even with a hard reset using the asus utility. Furthermore, the wifi itself stopped working soon after. I'd suggest that you send back the router as soon as possible to ASUS or wherever you bought it from.

    Yes, I did. The restore utility was successful, but nothing was fixed. I had the same issue which was that the router was not even booting up. I returned it yesterday, and got a RT-AC86U, which works fine for my current purposes.

    I think the ASUS interface on the other routers are fine. The issue is that the interface on the GT AC-5300 is just unreliable.
