RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode losing connection to main router

Would you post your device list? I'm betting you have some devices that have constant traffic.

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode losing connection to main router

I highly doubt it is interference on my situation because the connection is pretty much rock solid at 1300mbps. The distance is maybe 30 feet going through 2 drywalls and a door. I'll investigate some different channels, but I'm convinced now that there just has to be traffic or the connection...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode losing connection to main router

I managed to keep my bridge online for 2 weeks straight by doing a ping -t from my "NAS" Windows 7 computer to the gateway .1 from behind the .2 bridge. Unfortunately ping appears to have some type of memory leak or something and didn't like running 24/7. I was restarting it when I noticed it...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode losing connection to main router

My two RT-AC68Us in Media Bridge Mode are losing the connection to my main router. This seems to be a common problem with this router mode and I'm surprised I haven't found a reliable solution yet. I'm at the point of looking for workarounds and ways to reconnect automatically. I'm running...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

I think the GUI is funky with Media Bridge mode as it obviously doesn't reflect the actual router configuration. As a workaround you can set up the route as a startup script. I used this guide: https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-add-cron-job-on-asuswrt-merlin-wifi-router/ Here is my startup...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

Actually I am not using DHCP to hand out addresses to my media bridges. I did at one point, but went to statically assigning them when I did the setup. They are manually set to .2 and .3 respectively and the GUI shows a default gateway of .1, as well as DNS of .1. Oddly enough though if I do an...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

That will not work because the router hands itself out as a default gateway. You will have an IP on the right subnet, but not route to the Internet. I also have another issue that cropped up when trying to get these media bridges stable. For some reason they keep disconnecting. A suggestion was...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

It took me a few days to be able to circle back to this. I was able to set up the device in AP mode wired to my main router. I tested connecting to the SSID successfully. I swapped from there to Media Bridge mode and it still is handing out DHCP addresses in the narrowed range I set up while it...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

The DHCP service is most certainly running despite the GUI saying it is off. When I plugged my PC directly into the back it pulled a .60 address. Any idea how to manually disable DHCP, since the GUI appears to not be reflecting what is running? When connecting through the main router, it appears...

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

Thanks for the URL link. It did have my saved scope settings, so I went ahead an just saved the page and applied with no other changes. I tried to renew a lease and didn't get the .2 address. I went ahead and narrowed my scope down to .60 to .69 so I'll know if this pops up again.

RT-AC68U in Media Bridge Mode responding to DHCP requests

I posted this in the 384.6 thread, but figured it might need a separate post since this might be not related to that version. Is there a way to manually disable DHCP server while in Media Bridge mode? Somehow my RT-AC68U is responding to DHCP requests, before the primary router can respond...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

Is there a way to manually disable DHCP server while in Media Bridge Mode? Somehow my RT-AC68U is responding to DHCP requests, before the primary router can respond. I've tested by narrowing the DHCP scope in router mode, then disabling DHCP, and then converting over to Media Bridge Mode.
