The router is not rebooting itself. I checked that. So far, I have not found anything which I have recognized in the syslog as pertaining to the problem, but maybe I need to change my logging level. It happens on both wired and wireless connections.

Ok, it is nice to know that everyone thinks it is fine. Often when you have a high load, low cpu there is a bottleneck, just somewhere else other than cpu, disk, swap, io or something. For some reason other than cpu busy, a process is being placed in a wait state.

Anyone played with this more? I was able to get Suricata working. It seems to need increasing amounts of memory. 1GB+ Has anyone tracked down the rule which is causing the large memory use or have some suggested settings in Merlin? rearden
