Release ASUS RT-AX86U Pro Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34406 2025/10/28

Another password suggestion, is if you're on a Mac, use Safari's auto password generator, and then copy and paste the password into your desired browser. That's what I do with all my sites now, and it works well.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

The latest firmware seems to be the one from October 20, 2025, which I manually applied a couple days ago. Now, it says I'm up to date when I check now, after the server issue was resolved. The RT-AX86U is in backup router mode for me now. I've turned off the WiFi radios, and just connected...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

I just posted right above you with a screenshot, that it's working again, and then there was a post above mine confirming it was starting to work again, as well.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

Thank you, I found info on how to change the WPS button as well, and set it to toggle radios. I have disabled the radios, and have connected the computer to the 86U to make the changes. Also the internal update checker is working again.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

Good to know, before I do the double NAT suggestion, does the 86U have a button to press to turn off the radios, like TP-Link routers do? I know it has the LED button, and the WPS button. Can the WPS button be used to disable WiFi physically ?

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

Thank you, I thought it was the other way around where the WPS method was the one that was reliable and the software one was not.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

In my case, this happened shortly after the latest firmware from October 20th, 2025 was installed, and a hard factory reset via the WPS and power buttons had been performed. So for me, it showed up on a clean setup. It worked initially, and then quit shortly after the AWS issues. Also, my...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

Thanks guys, I'll just let it sit then. I have the TP-Link working, and it seems pretty stable.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

Just thought I would check with you to see if your router's update function works now, that the weekend is over, or if it's still unable to connect. I haven't connected my 86U back yet as a second router.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

What I might do is set it up as an AP, just to keep it updated as a backup in case the TP-Link has issues. After setting up the TP Link fresh with the defaults of the latest firmware it seems like it's acting really well now. The main thing that happened with me when I bought the WiFi 7...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

It wasn't wasted, was working initially, things happened after I swapped in the RT-AX86U to update the firmware, and when I put it back, that's when the issues showed up. So like I said, it could have been AWS having issues and it looked like the router, and I made the point that the Router...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

That's why I decided to stick with the Asus since it was stable, and when I need the newer one, I can use it then. That way the network can remain stable. Also, the instability of AWS doesn't help either, since both Alexa, the lights rely on it. When issues happen it's really hard at times to...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

Thanks for confirming. I went back to using the RT-AX86U, over the New TP-Link I got for stability. For whatever reason, after updating the asus to the latest firmware, testing it, and then going back to the TP-Link my lights acted up, and wouldnt work right until I put the Asus back. So I...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

I did check that last night, and it gives the same message as the Web UI about not being able to connect to the server. Do you know If I can access the Asus server independent of the router UI? e.g. I was going to see if I could ping it, or even connect outside the router to see if it's an...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24401 (2025/10/20)

It's really strange, I updated manually to the October 20th update, did a hard reset to confirm the alexa issue wasn't asus related, but connected to AWS. The Router was able to confirm I was up to date, but as of this weekend, it can't connect to the server anymore. I'll give it a couple more...
