Wi-Fi Calling not working on ASUS Router

I went to the du website, or tried to, to try to make sense of this all. (Which typically I try to if the ISP is shared, and is the ISP with "the problem". Seems du sells both 5G/cellular Internet and fiber.

@Spartan Which service do you subscribe?

It loads so slowly, sigh....
I'm on Fiber, I didn't go for their 5G router because while the speed is faster (north of 1500MBPS compared to Fiber's 1GBPS, the upload speed is only 100-200MBPS compared to the Fiber's 880 MBPS upload.

I'm on the du Home Basic plan:

1 Gbpsdownload
Estimated speeds will be 900-950Mbps for downloads and 330Mbps for uploads.

My friend is on the Etisalat Neo plan using the ISP provided cheap router

I don't know if this applies to all phones, but you should be able to set Wi-Fi calling as the preference. In my case (Pixel 9a, GrapheneOS) the setting is located under Network & Internet; Internet; Mobile Data (Verizon). Click the options cog, scroll down to Calling; Wi-Fi Calling; and set Calling Preference to "Call over Wi-Fi".
Yes, that's the same setting on my vivo X300 Pro. I have it set to Call over Wi-Fi" as the preferred method.

Here in the US 5G/4G aka cellular based Internet service has a reputation for being cheap, provide not so great speed, and require use of provided gateway which doesn't allow bridge mode nor IP Passthrough....

I must say after the initial call on the iPhone 16e was blocked on my regular network SSID, then turning on UPnP and verifying connection to a double NATed router worked, I then toggled it off on that router and WiFi call on the iPhone in Airplane mode still worked. If you can borrow someone's iPhone and try on your network may be a good next step....

I've hit good coverage areas on Verizon's 5G network, and with "allow more data on 5G" enabled on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I've gotten close to 500 Mbps down, and between 20, and 40 Mbps up. So those are great speeds for Cellular. As far as the dedicated 5G internet service, I haven't gotten a chance to test that because when I've checked, it's not been available at my address. An update for everyone else, WiFi calling seems to be engaging on it's own now without having to be forced. (according to the status in control center.) I have ultra wide, or whatever the latest generation 5G is called now. So, maybe that's required for the extra speed boost, and maybe that's not everywhere yet.
