    I am glad I didn't open it, because after hours of further research on this Forum, I decided to order the RT-AX86U from Amazon. It's currently out of stock, expected delivery in a week or two... Based on their compatibility page, I think I might very well have the first version of the RT-N66U with a single core 600MHz CPU, as opposed to the Dual Core 1GHz version.
