RT-AC88U wifi dies after hours of torrenting

Switching to openwrt fixed this, which proves the obvious: this is a software (driver) issue, and you don't need to spend hundreds of euros in professional equipment to fix a driver bug, despite what some brains here say.

RT-AC88U wifi dies after hours of torrenting

That's the problem: it dies after hours (let's say 6). It's hard to test things this way. In any case I'm sure it's not a problem of a "limit". I am certain it is a software bug that only surfaces when the router is put under stress. There may be a way of contacting ASUS about it so they can...

RT-AC88U wifi dies after hours of torrenting

Smart people know that text files are harmless. They won't bite you. My router wasn't made to be used as a "torrenting host"? Is there some documentation on asus.com regarding how many connections I can open every minute before the wifi driver craps itself and I'm out of support? That would be...

RT-AC88U wifi dies after hours of torrenting

The only way to fix it is a reboot. I am going to attach what the console says.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 is now available

I'm not 100% sure because it was months ago, but I believe the latest stock firmware (43129) contains the bug also. Is there any way to report a bug that ends up with an actual engineer reading the bug report?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 is now available

If you set up a 6in4 tunnel with RA on (default) and then reboot the router, RA stops working. You have to disable it, apply settings, then enable it again so it works until the next reboot. It's an upstream bug actually. In ipv6 router advertisements are necessary every x minutes or devices...

Google is always providing inaccurate information

Your problem is not google, your problem is that you don't know how to use it. Carousels are always generated automatically and therefore inaccurate. Merlin has a website and that's what you should have looked at.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 is now available

Router advertisement in 6in4 tunnels still broken after a reboot.

RT-AC86U IPV6 Router Advertisement not working properly

Adding an update: it's clearly a problem in Asus code because it happens with the stock firmware also.

RT-AC86U IPV6 Router Advertisement not working properly

This is still completely unreliable. Practically every time I reboot my router I have to disable and then enable the Router Advertisement option. Is this a bug in asus code or...?

    Launching scripts on boot

Seems I was missing the "#!/bin/sh" part. Thanks!

    Launching scripts on boot

I assumed that by having the "Enable JFFS custom scripts and configs" option enabled, the "/jffs/scripts/services-start" file would be executed on boot, but it's not. How do I execute a script on boot?

    Command to "reapply" IPv6 configuration

Taking into account the inordinate amount of time wifi takes to start after a boot, it won't affect any device. So I'll try that. Thanks.

    Command to "reapply" IPv6 configuration

I am using a 6in4 tunnel to get IPv6 connectivity. Every time the router boots some of my devices lose connectivity constantly until I go to the web panel and hit "Apply" in the IPv6 section. Once this is done I have no problems until the router reboots. Is there a way to do this automatically...

    How to add hardcoded hosts

For example let's say I want potato.com to resolve to 123.123.123.123 whilst I'm in my LAN. How can I do that? I tried adding it to etc hosts and it did not work.
