Thank you. I did try it but did not work. It didn’t even block access to the 5Ghz band. I think I’m going to create a 2.4Ghz guest network in the interim and assign the device to that.

That’s very simple. But it’s not what I’m asking..;) I’m asking if wireless Mac filtering can be used to restrict a particular band(in this case 5ghz) and force the client to use a 2.4 band with same SSID.

Had this issue with the latest stock FW the other day . Definitely not just a Asuswrt-Merlin issue.

Since resetting the device I have not had any issues. You might want to try that. I’m also running stock FW right now until 384.4 is finalized.

I wish I did. Now I’m wondering if I really solved my issue by turning DHCP off or if I just got lucky.

Before putting into bridge mode did you try turning off DHCP on the modem?

Wow that’s a big difference from the 3100

I also had a 66u and got 10Mbps using PAI. I now have an RT-AC3100 and get 50Mbps. Not sure what an 86U will get you but since it has better processor I would think you’ll get more.

Absolutely agree. The morale of the story is, even if you enable bridge mode, you should disable DHCP and other services.
