    Does 1) matter much if my house cable is disconnected from the outside world? For 2), any drawbacks or performance impact to switching over to LAN address? Been having some issues with mine, and I figure easy LAN access would simplify troubleshooting.

    Been through 2 faulty 86Us myself, so I think I'm done with that line. Figure the 58 is new enough to be supported for a while, and for now no hiccups have come up. She's on either 100mbit or 200 I think, so that should be enough with a 58.

    how to maximise OpenVPN connection speed?

    Daily tests give me about 930/930 on GF across several testing sites. Could I maybe get a screenshot of your settings just to confirm I match? I think my only change may have been to disable compression since I saw something about compression being vulnerable to attack?
