66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

Many thanks again OE, I followed the links via this thread to run the two SSH commands setting ATEMode to 0 (confirmed using a show command that mine was indeed set to 1), did a factory reset and its now being picked up as an AiMesh node via both wireless and ethernet backhaul running the AiMesh...

66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

Many thanks I'll have a look through all that at the weekend, for now the 66U is running as an AP just to get the house fully back online

66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

Don't know where to go with this now, I've factory reset the 86U and 66U, set the 86U up as the router with no other config, straight into AiMesh setup but it still can't see the 66U either on WiFi or Ethernet. That's running both the latest firmware and also the previous firmwares on both

66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

Cheers, when I say lots of config I mean things like VPN server setup, guest network and various DHCP reservations for particular devices on my network, nothing that should affect AiMesh etc. I've just tried a flash down to the last firmware on the 66 B1 and that made no difference so I'll try a...

66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

I've not reset the 86U yet, I really didn't want to do that as there's a lot of config on there but I guess I could save the settings then reset to see if it detects with a clean install or not then take it from there. WHat about flashing the 66U back down to the previous firmware, would that be...

66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

Yep I've done a reset on the B1 before searching for it. On the 86U I do the search from the Network Map - Aimesh section, it just searches for a while then times out saying "Unable to find any AIMesh Nodes nearby" then givnig instructions on what to do with the node which repeats what I've...

66U_B1 firmware updated, now can't be added as AIMesh Node

I updated my RT-AC66U_B1 to firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_40558 the other day and since then I've been unable to connect it back up to my RT-AC86U (on latest 3.0.0.4.386_40451 firmware) to act as an AIMesh Node. I've tried resetting it then connecting my laptop via ethernet cable to go through...

    AC-86U and 66U-B1 - extending AiMesh options

Thanks, I don't think I need to worry about wireless backhaul at all though because as mentioned I can get ethernet to the outbuilding no problem, and I can also get ethernet around the house to link the two nodes in the house? You mention AIMesh 2 and having proper guest mode across all nodes...

    AC-86U and 66U-B1 - extending AiMesh options

I've currently got an RT-AC86U as my primary router with a 66U-B1 in AiMesh configuration. We're in the process of moving to a larger house with an outbuilding that will need WiFi coverage for my wife's work (single user generally and not high speed/bandwidth requirements) and would like some...

    ASUS RT-AC66U B1 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.10007

Yep just edited my reply when I noticed you were only on 20287, it was only when I had both on 20308 that AiMesh worked, although the AC86 never got 20287 so can't comment on how that version on both would behave.

    ASUS RT-AC66U B1 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.10007

Can you try it with the 68U as the router, I've not tried it the other way around but it wouldn't be a total surprise if the lesser model 66U is restricted to being a node only? Also try updating both to 20308 as my 86U / 66U-B1 combo still wouldnt connect with the 86U on 10007 and the 66U on...

    .

Its the default "admin" username it's complaining about as it's a check on the username as well as the password. Change that to "administrator" or something else you'll remember and it should go away. It is buggy though, mine reports uPnP disabled = No but in the settings for the WAN it's...

Aimesh and daisy chain not working

What you're describing is AiMesh working as a hub/spoke type "mesh" whereby each node needs a direct link back to the main controlling AiMesh router. No idea if that's how AiMesh is designed to work or not? If that's the case, could you swap the position of router 1 and 2 so position 2 becomes...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Generally running well on my AC86U and AC66U-B1 with the latter accepted as an AiMesh Node for the first time. The only bug I've spotted is one I had in 10007 where if you edit a device in the device list sidebar (to modify the device icon etc), about 50% of the time it crashes the console...

    Aimesh - wire and wireless

Yep I've got an AC66U-B1 which I assume is the same device here in the UK. If you've got a really fast broadband connection and want to max that out with VPN etc you'll want something like my AC86 for the additional horsepower but for my 50/10 FTTC connection the 66U-B1 is no slower than the...
