Trooli FTTP - replace Technicolor DGA4134 with modem/bridge/micro switch

Yes I understand that, but isn't there any microswitches or simple bridges that can act as a PPPOE client without all the fluff - I don't need any functions other than Client PPPOE passthrough? Maybe I misunderstood the Network engineer when he told me about replacing the Trooli router, as I'm...

Trooli FTTP - replace Technicolor DGA4134 with modem/bridge/micro switch

I was thinking of one of these devices... but seems like overkill to just pass PPPOE client details. https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-fttp-wan-setup

Trooli FTTP - replace Technicolor DGA4134 with modem/bridge/micro switch

We have an S5 device and understood (maybe wrongly) that it wasn't supported for acting as PPPOE client. I will double check. https://help.smoothwall.net/FilterFirewall/Content/3Network/1Configuration/1Interfaces/Add.htm

Trooli FTTP - replace Technicolor DGA4134 with modem/bridge/micro switch

Not sure if anyone can help, but I'm looking for recommendations for a device to pass PPPOE details without acting as a router or firewall on our new FTTP Trooli connection. I have obtained all PPPOE details (directly from Trooli) and have permission to run own equipment - but I'm unsure what...

    DDNS setup Tutorial

I've just realisded I can't now access my router from the DDNS address. Are you sure this works with Remote Access from WAN turned off?

    DDNS setup Tutorial

Ah that explains it. Thanks. I thought remote access from WAN was necessary to allow DDNS but obviously it's not.

    DDNS setup Tutorial

Well it all seems to work remotely using NO-IP, but when I access the router locally from my PC I get: This server could not prove that it is router.asus.com; its security certificate is from (MY DDNS PC NAME).ddns.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your...

    DDNS setup Tutorial

Sorry but I'm still stuck with this and I don't know how to access the router using the local ip of 192.168.1.254 - I just get a blank page. I can log in via https://router.asus.com:8443 and then it gives me a message This server could not prove that it is router.asus.com; its security...

    DDNS setup Tutorial

Thanks for your reply. Since writing I've got it working with no-ip. It was quite straightforward actually now I've done it. One question; I don't seem to be able to login to the router locally anymore with my original username and password. I have to use my no-ip URL. Is that normal or I...

    DDNS setup Tutorial

Hi Does anyone know of a Tutorial for Merlin Firmware (but I assume it's similiar to stock) for setting up DDNS properly and configuring the correct router settings? Sorry if this is already obvious but I have searched. Thanks in advance.

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Thanks Morris - I have uninstalled and re-toggled Cake-qos from within Merlin firmware. It seems to be working fine. I have set the Wan Packet Overhead to PPPOE VDSL. How can I see what version of the cake-qos package is running? Is there a command from within the Terminal that I can call...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Hi - I have upgraded my RT-AC86U to 386.2_4 firmware with Cake-qos built in and activated it. Is there any impact or do I need to do anything with regards to Cake-qos that I had installed via the Github onto USB using the following instructions: GitHub - ttgapers/cakeqos-merlin: Custom add-on...

FlexQoS FlexQoS - Asus RTAC86U - Huge UPLOAD BufferBloat

Also I notice in the Asus Adaptive QoS settings that the QoS whilst using Cake can remain disabled and seems to be forced into this mode. Is this normal? If so, what a bonus. I'm really not sure I'd like to give Trend Micro my internet data for 'Analysis'... and really didn't want to but...

FlexQoS FlexQoS - Asus RTAC86U - Huge UPLOAD BufferBloat

Thanks - I will try this. Fast.com were the same as DSLreports... I never had a problem with DSLReports in the past but I appreciate it can be down to the service provider.
