I had three unknown Mac addresses trying to connect. Funny enough - also on RT-BE92U - and also one of them was Tuya. I set up a Mac filter for the unknown adresses and now I’m no longer seeing them. I do still have a lot of deauth, auth etc. from my Harmon Kardon smart speaker. But I guess I...
I just installed this router 3 days ago. Until now it has performed very well with no hiccups at all. Fast and smooth. I have used Asus routers for 20 years and this is not disappointing. I only hope that it will get Merlin support at some point - all my previous routers were supported:-)
Thanks for the reply. I was looking for a way to see the wireless log from the node. I tried to read the thread you suggested, and to me it looks like that covers the syslog only? Anyway, the skill level required to make it work goes a bit beyond my capabilities:-)
I just added my first aimesh node, an ax-56U to my trusty Ax88U. I’m used to check the wireless log for speeds and signal levels etc. Now the log only shows the clients connected to the main router - not the clients connected to the mesh node. How do I see the wireless log for the clients...
If you have a usb drive connected, make sure to select usb 2.0 compatibility mode. I had the same router - and that exact problem. Usb 3.0 makes interference with the 2.4 ghz radio on an Ac87U.
I actually upgraded to AX88U. Never looked back - super stable with Merlin. Ax devices begin to creep...
An update to this. Just tried navigating around again and the same message was still present etc. Also noticed the client list on front page was empty. Suddenly I was logged out automatically? After logging in again all was back to normal - speed test and everything. It’s doesn’t seem to affect...
After 4 days completely uneventful with this beta 5 - I did notice something which I think is a bug on my AX88U. I wanted to do a speed test, which I have done a couple of times before on beta 5, but this time I couldn’t, apparently because of some problem detected by the router? The router...
I had a device doing this. It turned out to be an older device only supporting 802.11g - and my router was setup as N-only. Obviously the device never connected, but it totally spammed the log trying. Not the case here I know, just for reference.
Smooth dirty upgrade from 384.19 to beta 5 on my stand alone AX88U.
Running 5 hours - everything seems OK. Low temperatures - 47 °C - 47 °C - 67 °C no fan.
Streaming from USB via samba works. OpenVPN server works. TrendMicro active. DDNS working.
MUCH better range on 2.4 GHz - was heavily...
I get the massage “The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address” - I do understand that I would get this if I used double-NAT etc., but the problem is that I don’t?
I get a perfectly fine public IP from my ISP in the range 100.109.x.x, which I assume should be fine. Nevertheless...
I would like to know if it by any means is possible to set up repeater mode so it has NAT, DHCP and firewall? I consider buying an RT-AC66U to extend the next door strong and reliable hotel wi-fi into my own private network in our holiday apartment:-) From googling I seem to understand that...
When 2.4 GHz is not working while 5 GHz is working ok - it can be caused by using the USB 3.0 ports. Several people including me have seen this happen especially when using unshielded cables. USB 3.0 runs on the same frequencies as 2.4GHz WiFi. Try to dismount any USB 3.0 devices - or change the...
USB 3.0 runs on the same frequencies as 2.4 GHz - that’s why it sometimes causes interference. If a shielded cable doesn’t help - changing the port to operate as a usb 2.0 port should do the trick.
