    The GPL code version numbers that are on the Merlin releases are not the same as the version numbers of the Asus releases. Just because the version numbers of the Merlin release might be lower, the code might have all the fixes that are in the current Asus ones.

    Dirty flash on my mesh node and then router. 16hr uptime so far and running just like it was before. Takes 1m50s to boot up and get a WAN connection on the 2.5gb port with my ISP that uses a VLAN tag in the 802.1Q section. I'll do a factory reset later this week.

    The Security Upgrades are the malware scanning Asus Security Deamon (ASD). It's been around for years, it's just the ability to toggle it off is new.

    It's also possible that the last few security patches have mitigated the current issues enough that they feel like they can hold off until more bug fixes/new features are ready before needing to issue a new build.

    Just checked and it was successful in that it's running the latest firmware I am getting a little worried about it, but it could be they are just working on more bugs with the AX86U/AX88U pro models. There was this beta patch that is newer than the current firmware...

    Solved Trend Micro: Signature version out of date ?

    On my various Asus models it shows that file as 09/23 Sometimes there is a display date bug with the sig file where the file is updated but will still show an older date.. Not sure if its to do with Merlin or certain models.

    Under IPTV your ISP might be listed to make it easier. In the 3.0.0.6 firmware there is also a 802.1Q setting on the WAN page

    802.1Q (VLAN) under WAN and LAN-IPTV under LAN, doing the same job??

    I believe there is no difference. They probabaly added the 802.1Q section for Dual WAN. So that each WAN can have different 802.1Q settings. I still use the IPTV section.
