There's tons of issues with the BE98 Pro and it's not getting any updates. Patience is not the problem here there's one word and it's called Incompetence on Asus's part.
Here's a handful of BE 98 Pro issues.
1) Will not respect AI Mesh rules set by the user as to optimal path for mesh to mesh...
So have any of you been experiencing this issue I will log into the router make a change in the setting it'll kick me out and say you've entered the password incorrect five times then I'll have to wait 5 minutes I enter the password it just sends me to a blank page I try with a different browser...
I have this SAME exact issue with the POS Aquantia chip, except it's the standard Asus firmware and not running merlins it's driving me mad. I'm going to try the fix in this post. Disabled the RCV still won't let me connect... sigh
Lets see $400 dollar router never gets updates? All other models get it the GT is left in the dust with the horrid 648 that has so many issues it's a nightmare. I'm about to throw out 2K worth of asus routers and switch to another brand because of your crap update times on your top of the line...
I love how asus updates all there other models with the new 900 firmware and leaves there top of the line GT5300 with the garbage 648 that is causing so many issues. Paying for the top model seems a waste now since it's updates are delayed. UPDATE IT FIRST yes I am frustrated because the 648...
Yeah this behavior is annoying as hell, also a secondary side effect is all my networked pc's stop seeing each other until I reboot the router + The AI mesh issues.
The latest official firmware is really bad for AI Mesh, I've got 3 routers and it just disconnects them every 5-7 days. This is on 20648, the routers are 2 86U and 1 88U.
Alright there's a new problem.
1. Using the 10G nic from the Rampage VI Extreme plugged into the Game ports on the GT5300 causes major issues as follows.
1. Upload speed will be reduced to less than 1mb/sec download speed is fine though.
2. Websites will just hang and say "connecting" and not...
Asus is slacking for there Top of the line router. Usually it's around 30 days per firmware update it's going on 1 1/2 months now no new update. There's a crap ton of issues that need to be fixed...
So apparently my router without my permission decided to update it self to the latest broken firmware after I had downgraded it to the previous version. No wonder I was having such an insane time with everything and getting really long page loading and shirt internet speeds...... with QOS...
Yeah QOS is broken! With it enabled Firefox won't load any sites however Edge will lol. I've had to disable it on the latest new firmware. Still get Kernal errors no fix for that either.
Now it's saying QOS Kernal error's It's a Paid App!
