Does the latest AsusWRT/Merlin FW has a memory leak?

Tks for your post. Currently my system has been up for 5 days 17 hour(s) 38 minute(s) 39 seconds. Had to reboot 5 days ago for an issue not related to my router. So, I guess my memory usage serves as a "early baseline". My RAM memory usage is reported as 66%. Used: 675 MB Free: 349 MB Total...

    A question about WireGuard security

Yes and No. I know folks in this forum that would say VPN is not security. They would say it is for anonymity (and possibly for Man-in-the-middle attacks?). I don't hold this viewpoint. And there are others that would say a syno reverse proxy (like I have) is a security risks because of its...

    Settings don't stick RT-AX88u Pro

Try a different browser. Safari has a history of compatibility issues. Consider Brave browser. If you do, you must deactivate "Brave Shields" for asusrouter.com. "Brave Shields" blocks some scripts used for ads and sometimes website function scripts.

    A question about WireGuard security

This is where our use-case differs. I too have access to non-critical Syno apps and files (eg. DS-Cam and Photos) from my phone - always through a user account with restricted access and 2FA. But for higher level admin and edits, I use my laptop and phone 2FA through Syno's Secure Signin. If I...

    Settings don't stick RT-AX88u Pro

Correct. Not the Expert WiFi app. Correct. Most likely a browser cache issue.

    A question about WireGuard security

Why not Synos Reverse Proxy with restricted user account login, access control and 2FA. Lose your phone and the worse thing that happens is others can watch your movies (but no access to your network at large).

    Netgear GS305EPP Port 4 Untrusted?

That switch has 802.1Q-based Level-2 network capabilites. Yes, the GS305EPP is capable of port tagging. Make sure you have enabled and configured 802.1Q (advanced) VLAN configuration. Follow Netgear instructions. Many youtube videos on the same subject.

    Simple Trunk on GT-AXE16000 help

FWIW, I've deployed 4 VLANs on my AX88U-PRO running FW 3.0.0.6.102_33308 (not the same but similar to your beta version). Even though your firmware is different, you may be able to glean some insight from my working configurations. One of my VLANs (VLAN75) is connected to a Netgear GS308T 8...

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

I won’t bore you with the blow-by-blow details, but I can say that after 2.5 hours of testing my AX88U-PRO running FW version 3.0.0.6.102_33308 (not the same as OP, but similar), I observed several DHCP assignment and lease expiration anomalies. DISCLAIMER: My testing is not conclusive. Without...

Using pfSense with a L3 core switch

Hmmmmm..... https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/65734/intel-xeon-processor-e31220-v2-8m-cache-3-10-ghz/specifications.html Above link seems to suggest "No" Hyper-Threading for a E3-1220V2.

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

Similar situation on current gen 88U-PRO FW. The client list does update but seems to take a while (minutes to hours). Could be a browser cache issue. Or, could be a router batch process that runs occasionally. Just never spent the time to diagnose.

    RT-AX88U Pro Unresponsive

The voltage you are reporting seems right. A little over voltage is normal for a no-load condition. The only way to really test the power brick is to measure voltage under load. That requires getting inside your 88U. I have had power bricks show good no-load voltage but under load, the...

    RT-AX88U Pro Unresponsive

Just a guess. Are you using the AX88U-PRO power brick. Or are you using the brick from your older router?
