    What do you do with your NAS?

    I have a synology DS210j. I use it as a web development server, media storage for all my dvds (I have 2 small children that don't mix with physical media) and family photos, as well as a small-time document server to store things like bank statements, tax returns, etc...

    are you using the server to be anything but a file server? that seems like way overkill for 500GB of storage

    Windows Home Server, Yay or nay?

    i know using XP probably isn't the "best" solution, but it's certainly good enough for me. setting up file sharing was a lot easier, and though it lacks some of the pizazz of the pre-built NAS's, like the Synology DS-508, it's less expensive, and functional for what I need.
