DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

Thanks. The updates shown there for WiFi7 are for the archer series, like the BE900 I mentioned earlier. Running the latest firmware on my BE65 Pro and there is no support for DNS over TLS. Not holding my breath there either, but who knows. Maybe by the time WiFi8 comes out and I'm ready to...

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

Affirm, at this stage DNSSEC and DNS over TLS are basically feature requests. Requests have been made and seemingly been ignored by tp-link. It may be the non-mesh systems like the BE900 routers might be more feature rich, I haven't checked. I have a BE800 sitting in a box right now but...

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

Yah at this point I think I'm leaving it alone. Unfortunately, the webUI on the deco model I have is extremely limited. Much moreso than what you see in that emulator. And there is no way to make any edits. It's strictly read only. Thank you for your assistance.

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

Unfortunately, there seems to be no way for me to change the value on the router side. It's not an option I can find in the app and the webUI on tp-link devices is basically read-only. In the grand scheme, it's of minor consequence since the LAN devices are getting cloudflare per the settings...

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

Attached a couple photos here regarding my question above. Do I have a problem here? The DNS entry showing up if I check the TP-Link webUI corresponds to the BGW gateway. There seems to be no way to edit this, though in the TP-Link app I do have cloudflare DNS entered under Advanced->DHCP...

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

@aex.perez The Deco is plugged in via ethernet to the BGW. Tonight, I fixed the issue with the MAC address pulldown menu 'passthrough fixed MAC address' in your screenshot. I had that set to the old router and had completely spaced needing to go back in and fix that. I also did another scan to...

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

BGW320 AT&T fiber access point, IP Passthrough Mode TP-Link Deco BE65Pro Mesh, Router Mode (not access point) On the Deco app I have setup cloudflare DNS, under Advanced->DHCP Server. Primary and secondary. An ipconfig on my PC shows the cloudflare DNS assigned to my ethernet adapter on the PC...

    GT-AXE16000 - bridge

Hi! I have a GT-AXE16000 and an old RT-N66U. The N66U is currently in bridge mode allowing me to use wireless signal to create an ethernet connection in my garage. Is it possible to operate more than one N66U in this condition concurrently so that I may do the same thing in another location...

    How to forward ports? GT-AXE16000

So what this turned out to be was a mistake on my side at the client. Long story short, I'm running a Monero (XMR) and a Haven (XHV) node on my client. I had everything forwarded correctly at the router. What was wrong were my rules on the windows firewall side. I noticed this morning my Monero...

    How to forward ports? GT-AXE16000

This may seem to be a really basic question but I'm having some odd behavior on a client where I don't see expected incoming connections from a port that I've opened up for an app. What is the correct process to open and forward a port from the router? What I have done is: WAN->Virtual...

    GT-AXE16000 - WiFi MAC Reservations

This was user error. I evidently wasn't hitting the + before applying. I was able to get the MAC added to the table and all is well.

    GT-AXE16000 - WiFi MAC Reservations

Negative. Is on the typical 2.4ghz band I'm using at the property. Not on any special network or zone. I haven't attempted to create an Ethernet reservation since I noticed this behavior so I'm unable at present to confirm this issue is isolated to WiFi or just this device though I strongly...

    GT-AXE16000 - WiFi MAC Reservations

When attempting to set a DHCP reservation on my GT-AXE16000 router I am unsuccessful. The device is on the 2.4ghz WiFi band. When adding the MAC and data into the table, then clicking Apply, the screen refreshes but saves nothing. I also don't get the progress indicator (in percent) that you...

    Parental Controls - Help

Substituting a flip phone in place of a smart phone may resolve the phone issue completely and may potentially save money on the cellular plan. As far as downloading from a foreign network a bunch of adult material good luck without a smart phone. Moving the electronics into a common area at...

    Parental Controls - Help

Yes I've mentioned she is going to need to get something loaded on his phone for parental control. Or get rid of the cell service. Otherwise he can just use it as a hotspot and circumvent her measures to block access. Does the filtering built-in to most routers rely on monitoring with and...
