r7800 with openwrt and hardware nat enabled

I seem to read that the latest versions of openwrt support hw nat. Has anyone tried them? Is it 100% working?

Ping spikes in wireless on r7800 with stock/voxel and openwrt

Kongpro openwrt is the best firmware I tried for bufferbloat and without ping/cpu spikes. (I have vhdsl..)

Ping spikes in wireless on r7800 with stock/voxel and openwrt

The build 39000 of kong seems to have no such problems, even if some pings are increased by about 10ms. I think I also to try the openwrt 17.01 build with the nss drivers for the r7800. There are some info at: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/ipq806x-nss-drivers/12613

Ping spikes in wireless on r7800 with stock/voxel and openwrt

Unfortunately I have to report a problem that I can't solve in a long time.. I have random high latency peaks, both with the last stock/voxel firmware and with openwrt in wireless mode. Pinging from telnet in the router console I don't have this spikes problem. It is frustrating that such a...

Power led successfully disabled on r7800 with openwrt

I have been looking for a way to disable the power LED for a while.. I succeeded with openwrt simply by going to the led configuration menu and adding the r7800:white:power to the configuration by deactivating it.. or manually adding these lines to /etc/config/system : config led 'led_power'...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

I did several tests. There are no interference problems. I solved with hnyman's LEDE builds. I tried the masters but now with the build owrt1806-r7720 I had the best results. (with SQM/cake-pieceofcake.qos) A+ A+ A+ in wireless mode. it's really AWESOME!! I'm really happy to finally play...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

Your generic answer does not help me. The router is the netgear 7800 and turning off and activating mu-mimo and beamforing does not change anything. The bufferbloat in wifi does not change even changing the preamble mode.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

After some tests via lan I could see that in dslreport the bufferbloat is always A and not B as in wireless. Why is this difference so great? It seems that the problem of the bufferbloat concerns only the wifi. Is there a way to improve the wifi?

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

WireGuard requires Linux ≥3.10 but NG firmware have kernel 3.4.103 ... I hope wireguard will be implemented in the NG firmware.. but it seems difficult unfortunately The asus ac86 has better vpn performance and wireguard support but not openwrt ddwrt support..

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.63SF

After various tests my opinion is that the connection is better with the NG settings. (cubic and rmem_max / wmem_max set to 163840) I have no results of bufferbloat A on the vdsl also testing it with the modem attached to the lan cable. The problem is not the router but the line. With the...

    r7800 - Stubby vs DNSCrypt-Proxy Performance?

I read that stubby hasn't an internal dnscache so the same queries may be slower if repeated compared to dnscrypt but I'm not sure about this... Beyond the performances, DNS over tls uses port 853 (stubby) , DNS over HTTPS uses port 443 (dnscrypt). It would be harder for an ISP to block port...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.63SF

I think there are no major differences between the tcp algorithms for congestion control (as regards cubic and yeah). Maybe cubic is more stable in all conditions and yeah more performing but it is a question of impressions seeing the various dslreports charts. Big improvements can be made by...
