    RT-AC66U_B1 + 386.1_2 = NO QoS ?

Hello again everyone. I know it's been a few years since my last posts but I have not had any weird problems until now, lol. Last week we decided to take advantage of channel bonding since CenturyLink is not charging extra for it. So since my ActionTec C1000A does not have the bonding feature I...

    Default password?

Yeah sorry, I posted in the wrong thread somehow and I have no effing clue how that happened. But I realized that Lastpass has a recorded history thing that had the password so I figured it out long ago. Again, sorry for the post failure as I meant to post elsewhere and simply failed. Enjoy...

    Default password?

Hey guys, I was preparing to update to the newest fw when I got side tracked working with an IT guy who needed access to the router for configuration purposes in order to flash new firmware onto one of my network devices. I had created him a strong pw using LastPass, but after the remote session...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I have a few questions please. But first my setup We are on CenturyLink VDSL+ 40/5 service about 26 miles outside Albuquerque NM (best option we have for an ISP here in the country). Speed tests show a minimum of 39.7-40.0 dl, and 4.7-4.9 up average. Using the DSLreports test I get a score of A...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Thank you for that tidbit. I have always been using the Adaptive QOS because I was under the impression that it would actually help us. We use Voip (Google voice), lots of different streaming services and PIA VPN as well. We use the VPN only because our isp seems to throttle YouTube, but the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

That is really good to know. What is the "upper end" of these devices for their Ethernet ports?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Both up and down increased by 25% for me, lol.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Yeah that is probably it, but it's weird to have crappy internet for 20 years, and then suddenly exactly what we pay for right after a firmware update. A very precise coincidence for sure. Lol my friend is telling me that there is no way that can be a coincidence and he is sure that it's the new...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

I'm loving this update. Never thought in a million years that a router update could improve my Wan dl speeds by 25%. Even my upload speed is now 25% or so better. I can't seem to stop thinking about this. How can a firmware upgrade do that?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Hey guy's, I would like to report a strange, but good side effect of 384.8 today. For the last few years we have been on the 40/5 package from CenturyLink, but in that entire time I have never seen any speed tests bring me above 29 Mbps. Even Netflix has never shown me a test above 28 Mbps...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Thank you, everything seems to be working perfectly so far. And to think I was worried for nothing. Just forgot to write down my old SSID's, so now I am forced to redo all my smart devices as well, ugh. lol damn it... EDIT: By the way Chrome didnt work after the factory reset reboot, it gave me...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Factory Reset AFTER the flash to 384.8? So your saying it's perfectly OK to just flash the firmware as I have normally done during the 380 series? All I have to do differently is Factory Reset afterwards?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Is it safe to directly upgrade my AC66U_B1 from 380.70 to this new 384.8? Or should I use Asus recovery tool to first upgrade to the latest stock 384 (32799)? And then go from stock 384 to this merlin 384.8 without another factory reset? I am on a VDSL CenturyLink account and it requires PPPoE...

[SOLVED] What is Asuswrt-merlin access IP? 192.168.1.1 does NOT work.

It's OK, so long you realized the mistake. I doubt you can delete it anyway. I didn't bother looking into the issue any further, because there was no reason to and I was perfectly fine with the change. It probably happened because I put the Asus router in bridge mode. I have this feeling bridge...

[SOLVED] What is Asuswrt-merlin access IP? 192.168.1.1 does NOT work.

Why would you reply to this very old thread? It is obvious this was SOLVED OVER A YEAR AGO. It even tells you this was SOLVED in the title of the thread. Lol
