    Anyone tried RT-AX55 + RP-AC51 in AiMesh?

As the AC-51 isn't in the list of range extenders that support AiMesh it's unlikely that it is working as an AiMesh node.

Basic question on AX router AiMesh setup

@OzarkEdge Thanks, that's very helpful. If only Asus made it easier to gain that knowledge.... At the moment the second router is an AP which seems to work with the SSIDs the same as the primary but I may get bored during the winter and decide to have a play. :)

    Anyone tried RT-AX55 + RP-AC51 in AiMesh?

The RP-AC51 is not a choice as it doesn't support AiMesh. Have you seen something that says it does?

Basic question on AX router AiMesh setup

So what would happen with dual band routers when I connect the AiMesh node back onto Ethernet if I followed this procedure?

    TP-Link TL-SX1008

I haven't got any further with this as some other things got in the way but I'm hoping you get a good result from the Noctua. The info you've provided about the fan speeds does encourage me to try the Noctua. I believe the Netgear XS508M is the same spec as the TL-SX1008 but it's more...

    TP-Link TL-SX1008

Ha! Like it. @ColinTaylor It's a Sunon EF40201BX-Q18C-F99 - 12V, 1.44W, analogue as it's a 3-pin connector. I've managed to find Sunon's fan data sheet but that only has the A99, not the F99. The difference seems to be that the F99 draws twice the current of the A99 for the same speed and flow...

    TP-Link TL-SX1008

I've now had a look inside (easy case removal with just six screws) and, as expected, it's a 40x20mm fan with a standard 3-pin connector. I looked up the part no. and it's a standard Sunon item shifting 10.8cfm by spinning at 6800rpm. That explains the noise and I'm struggling to find an...

    TP-Link TL-SX1008

Considerably louder than my desktop (okay, floor-standing) PC and two NAS with a total of 10 HDDs combined. It's a particularly irritating note and, as I said, made worse by the varying pitch (or volume?). I also have a Netgear MS510TX which is actively cooled and I have to listen hard to hear...

    TP-Link TL-SX1008

Having now bought one, I advise no-one else to do so unless it's going in a comms cabinet as it's noisy. The fan is too loud to be acceptable when sitting on a desk and what make it worse is that the fan ramps up and down with load so the noise isn't constant. I've had a conversation with Pamela...

    RT-AX86U import settings from RT-AC86U

I did it because I didn't ask here first and I had to go through everything to make sure I'd swept out all references to the AC86U. It probably took just as long as starting from scratch with a paper copy of the settings.

    TP-Link TL-SX1008

Has anyone tried a TP-Link TL-SX1008 8-port unmanaged 10Gbe switch yet or know anything particularly good or bad about them? I'm in need of an 8-port switch for 2.5Gb and 10Gb devices so this one at around £300 looks tempting.

    RT-AX86U minor bug

It is a managed switch (MS510TX) although I'm not using any management functions other than to bond the two 2.5Gbps ports for NAS2 (and I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any benefit from that). As the second device is an access point it can't be selected as a mesh node; the mesh just happens and...

    RT-AX86U minor bug

I'm lucky enough to have two RT-AX86Us. They both have their 2.5Gbps ports plugged into 5Gbps ports on my multi-speed switch and the front panel indicators on both routers show that they are connected. On the device configured as a router, LAN5 gives the correct status of 2.5Gbps but on the one...

    {SOLVED} GT-AX11000 can't get 2.5gbe speeds working on LAN

If you log into the WebGUI of the AX11000 what status does it give for that port? The 2.5Gbps port on my AX86U is connected to a 5Gbps port on my switch and shows as connected at 2.5Gbps. I've had three devices simultaneously backing up to the NAS at a combined speed of 1.6Gbps so I know it's...

What ax router in the UK?

Oops. I did check again after you mentioned it but I didn't go back that far. Fortunately it seems to have worked but I'll reset to factory defaults if I do get any problems.
