+1. I also unfortunately had the exact same issue @Sizzlechest had and I ended up going back to stock. I really wanted to like and use Voxel's firmware but this issue was very clear cut and unquestionably tied to the cfw. This was a few versions back though, not 81. I lost confidence in it when...
Haha, that's exactly what I have. I run a pfSense VM but if you want a standalone device then these are excellent:

In which case, don't buy a consumer router. Their firmware is all garbage more or less.
Have a read here:

Did you factory restore following the update to .74?
First time I did not and had the issues you report.
Once I factory wiped it has been rock solid since. Has been running without a reboot from the day it launched.
I had the same issue. I ended up ditching Voxel and going back to stock 1.0.2.74 and the issue hasn't returned.
I think there's something not quite right with .80SF. It's a shame, it was my first jump into Voxel firmware and was unfortunately somewhat of a disappointment as I had always found...
Thanks for the GPL link. It blows my mind how old some of the packages are included in the official R7800 firmware. The Kerberos 5 package, heimdal-1.5.3.tar is over 7 years old. Nuts, and utterly irresponsible that a piece of 'supported' hardware, even if it is consumer grade, should have 7...
Voxel puts out almost monthly updates of his firmware, which frankly is incredible. I don't want to speak for him but my guess is he will most likely be assimilating these changes in the next release ;)

Seems rather coincidental that @kamoj and @Voxel implement a firmware fix for the AP mode WAN port corruption issue and then all of a sudden, after SO many years of this issue, Netgear release a fix.
Smacks of incompetence in the Netgear dev team to me.
Thank you for the detailed response, and above all thank you so much for providing the community with this firmware. It is excellent and I for one am extremely grateful as I’m sure everyone else using it is.
Thank you Voxel.
Finally took the plunge and moved from stock to Voxel. I run in AP mode and haven't noticed a single changed setting or menu since upgrading, other than the logo and Voxel firmware wording.
Are all Voxel features aimed at routing functionality? Or is the benefit when in AP mode just that the the...
Thanks Voxel. I have one more question. Is your latest firmware for the R7800 based off of the latest 1.0.2.68 firmware from the Netgear site? I think I read somewhere that you hadn't moved to the latest yet for some reason but wasn't sure why and also what one would be missing by not being on...
@Voxel I'll put a different angle on it. Are there any negatives to using your firmware on an R7800 in AP mode?
Using AP mode one wouldn't necessarily use the additional features brought by the custom firmware.
I wholeheartedly agree that security updates are important (especially when...
