    RT-AX86U cooling fans

If people are still looking for these, I did just stumble across a Chinese site selling several different versions of the fan you linked to originally. I went with the black USB powered version and it has built in screens to prevent dust from blowing into the router. UPDATE: They're a little...

    DDNS w/ DNS-O-Matic

Crisis averted: I was able to engage my trusty fingerbot to remotely cycle the power on my router and it looks like upon restart it reconnected to DNS-O-Matic and updated with the correct IP address. Phew!

    DDNS w/ DNS-O-Matic

Honestly I feel like networking is so persnickety that if you simply look at your router wrong it will decide to ruin your day. I'm working remote for the next few weeks, saw the new router I've been eyeballing for months on sale, and had it shipped to my current location. Had some downtime and...

    DDNS w/ DNS-O-Matic

Fun fact: if you are remotely setting up a new ASUS router and you enter your DNS-O-Matic credentials, it will overwrite your local IP address and your previously established VPN connection will stop working until you can reregister from your local network. Hope this helps someone not make the...

    AX86U Pro Merlin Benefits?

After having used the RT-AC68U for well over a decade, I finally decided to upgrade to an AX86U Pro. I know there were clear benefits and additional functionality provided by the Merlin firmware on the AC68U (AiMesh, OpenVPN, etc.), but I am wondering if there is any with the AX86U? I've...

    Client List Woes

Just to clarify: I am not attempting to reserve a DHCP address in the 192.168.101/102.x address space -- the UI merely won't save any changes to the client entry unless I modify the IP field to use the 192.168.1.x address space (then it saves, but no change is actually made to the IP address)...

    Client List Woes

I've searched and read through a few threads about this and didn't see anything similar and the answer may be be as simple as "Client List is closed source," but here goes... My two issues with the Client List are thus: Devices connected to the guest network will display an IP address that has...

    Additional Device Icons

So first and foremost, thank you to everyone for posting your custom icons -- a lot of great stuff to choose from. However, I would like to revisit the original question and ask why a specialized icon for a device shows up seemingly at random? I have multiple ASUS RT-AC68U routers and it is a...

Force LAN port 4 to use the Guest network for Asus/merlin RT-AC68U

I am curious as to what this IP address (192.168.1.0/24) refers to. Is the internal network IP address of your router or just an arbitrary value? My set up is slightly more complicated as I have 2 guest networks (one for guests and one for IoT devices). How do I identify which is which in my...
