Cannot get VPN Server setup with correct IP

I've got my network set on a 192.168.1.0 subnet, with 255.255.255.0 netmask. DHCP range is 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.199. Trying to change the VPN address to 192.168.1.200+ always gives me the error that it conflicts with the DHCP range - which it clearly does not. Why can't I set it to the...

    Dual WAN - Dual DDNS?

"There are old programmers, and there are bold programmers - but there are no old and bold programmers." And for good reason. I haven't even looked at the code, but I can say that such a feat (dual WAN failover) is not a "small change". I'd say that if you're in real need of that feature, you...

OpenVPN setup screen - couple of issues

Never asked for it to be reposted in 5 different places. Just in a separate changelog.txt file like so many others. Also - if the above has become irrelevant, due to needing to always read the changelog - why not eliminate it? It is now incorrect. Yep - my fault. Too many 16 hour days...

OpenVPN setup screen - couple of issues

Ok - having now gone through 2 hard resets and configs of the router, the same problem persists. The admin login name for the router appears as I've shown above. I've confirmed on 3 different browsers, Safari, Chrome and Firefox. And on a Windows PC with IE just to be sure. (Oh, the...

OpenVPN setup screen - couple of issues

Ok, However, the documentation (in order you'd read it) says: "Installation ------------ Simply flash it like any regular update. You should not need to reset to factory defaults (see note below for exceptions). You can revert back to an original Asus firmware at any time just by...

OpenVPN setup screen - couple of issues

I haven't used my OpenVPN setup (server) for a while, but after updating to 378_50 today, noticed a couple of things: First, under the server, I see a user now I never added. Coincidentally, this user (without a password), is also the username used to login to the router for admin purposes...

DHCP please allow "_" underscore in host-name

These RFCs may be more applicable: DHCP Options and Domain Names I seem to remember from way back that M$ limited system names to 24 characters back in WfW 3.11 (possibly a tad shorter). Those weren't domain names, but became as such later in W95, etc. as I recall. So many vendors...

RT-N66U Can't access Web Config pages after router has been on for <???> time

Or, in this case - a corrupted disk. Format, etc. became corrupted on the disk. Sorry - getting nervous with all the new info, and I get concerned when things like this happen. Makes one wonder if there's an issue, with all the vulnerabilities that keep popping up this year. Anyway - all...

RT-N66U Can't access Web Config pages after router has been on for <???> time

Another update - unplugged the USB hard drive - behavior seems to have stopped - i.e. I can access web pages now. Have to check log and see if I'm getting USB errors, or if there's some other issue with the USB hard drive.

RT-N66U Can't access Web Config pages after router has been on for <???> time

Update. Apparently starts occurring within 10 minutes after a power-on reset.

RT-N66U Can't access Web Config pages after router has been on for <???> time

This seems to have started with the *374.40_0, and has continued now through an update to *374.42_0. After the router has been on for <???> not sure just when it starts - I cannot access the web configuration pages at 192.168.1.1. Browser just hangs, and never gets the page loaded. I have...

374_40 Huge problem with PPPoE userid/password

Update - been running a while after cleaning out the "iCloud Keychain", and have not had an issue since. Again, appears to be an issue where some things were copied from the local Keychain to the "iCloud Keychain". Not even sure where some of it came from. Pretty old stuff - stuff I'd...

374_40 Huge problem with PPPoE userid/password

Right now, that's the way we'll leave it. It appears to be an issue with the Apple browser and it's relationship to the new Keychain. Appears to be two sections to the keychain (at least) that Safari is using. And even though the "login" area of the Keychain has no references to my router...

374_40 Huge problem with PPPoE userid/password

Done some more checking - and it might be an issue with Mac Keychain access. I cleaned out several items relating to my router in the new "iCloud" Keychain - separate from the other Keychain areas. Finding some other garbage in there too I'm cleaning out. Now seems to be ok - I'll keep...

374_40 Huge problem with PPPoE userid/password

I've seen this a bit before - but generally wasn't an issue in prior releases. However, now it is a HUGE issue on RTN66U Apparently, the 374_40 uses or confuses the 2.4Ghz SSID and password with the ISP userid and password. In other words, the 2.4Ghz SSID is placed in the ISP field for the...
