Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

No worries. Current firmware is very stable for me anyway. I had issues with 5ghz Wi-Fi on stock firmware where my clients would sometimes not reconnect to Wi-Fi. No problems here and performance seems not worse. Thanks!

Amazon.co.uk has this router for around 250 pounds which seems quite cheap at the moment! Gt-ax6000 on Amazon UK

VPN by groups on RT-AX89X or RT-AX86U

Yep, I am using policy based routing myself to do something opposite - I have a vpn tunnel set to a different country and only my Smart tv using the vpn tunnel. My Ax89x was unable to do this, this is one of the reasons why I bought gt-ax6000. Stock Asus ROG firmware supports this via VPN fusion...

OpenVPN on the BCM4912 (ZenWiFi Pro XT2 or GT-AX6000)

Seems pretty high to me, mine hovers around 65 degrees idle with ambient temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius. It stands on a separate shelf, though, and no obstructions so plenty of breathing space. Transmitter power set to "Fair" for both radios, don't need more power for my needs.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

Thanks. I hard reset the router, soft reset it and then installed your firmware again. Seems to be OK now, the error entries are from the new, fresh install. Everything’s looks good and solid now.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

Earlier yesterday, I installed Merlin’s release for the first time over stock Asus firmware. I reset all the settings, then set everything from scratch. I made a quick benchmark of Audi, wasn’t happy and decided to go back to stock. Before I did that, I saved configuration file for the future...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

Ok, I gave the firmware another chance but I have some problems (Uploaded the firmware, reset to defaults and restored my previous merlin firmware settings from today): 1) WAN LED goes red every 1-2 minutes for around 20 seconds, and comes back white, 2) Plenty of errors in the logs (attached...

I understand. When do you think the new codebase might get incorporated into your branch? Thanks for your time

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

Hmm, interesting. My current stock Asus firmware is the one from end of the March, 3.0.0.4.386_48377. This means Asus’s codebase is newer than your release? Then again, their changelog said nothing about performance improvements, only security updates and some minor additions in dns list…

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

I had a go with the release version and decided to do my standard Wifi benchmark just to compare to stock. 8GB zip file transferred from my Synology NAS (connected via LAN) to iPhone 13 Pro Max via Wifi 5ghz. Merlin firmware: Stock firmware: This is not scientific benchmark but the...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 beta is now available for select models

Thank you for the answer, appreciate "straight to the point" :) I had a look at Beta 1 for a day but I was focusing on immediate benefits vs AsusWRT. I found that additional scripts and addons are irrelevant to me, as I prefer to use my Synology NAS as a placeholder for things like Adguard Home...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 beta is now available for select models

Well, quantum physics aside, are you (or anyone) able to present some clear advantages of VPN Director vs the VPN Fusion?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 beta is now available for select models

If someone says it is "light years ahead" I expect the person would be able to quantify/give examples of what are the numerous advantages. I had a quick look at beta 1 and VPN Director, I don't see any "light years ahead" advantages myself - so I am just really curious of what I may be missing...
