    I have not updated to this Merlin release but I can say that the latest official and beta Asus firmware’s cause the same issue, 5ghz remains on when all radios disabled.

    I flashed my router from Beta this morning. The only "issue" I can see is that my 2.5Ghz LED on the router will remain on, no matter what. I always had LED's turned off but on this firmware I cannot make this LED turn off. Rebooting does not help either, I will try to flash once more.

    No worries. Current firmware is very stable for me anyway. I had issues with 5ghz Wi-Fi on stock firmware where my clients would sometimes not reconnect to Wi-Fi. No problems here and performance seems not worse. Thanks!

    VPN by groups on RT-AX89X or RT-AX86U

    Yep, I am using policy based routing myself to do something opposite - I have a vpn tunnel set to a different country and only my Smart tv using the vpn tunnel. My Ax89x was unable to do this, this is one of the reasons why I bought gt-ax6000. Stock Asus ROG firmware supports this via VPN fusion...

    OpenVPN on the BCM4912 (ZenWiFi Pro XT2 or GT-AX6000)

    Seems pretty high to me, mine hovers around 65 degrees idle with ambient temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius. It stands on a separate shelf, though, and no obstructions so plenty of breathing space. Transmitter power set to "Fair" for both radios, don't need more power for my needs.

    Thanks. I hard reset the router, soft reset it and then installed your firmware again. Seems to be OK now, the error entries are from the new, fresh install. Everything’s looks good and solid now.
