    RT-AX86U Guest Wifi Issue

I just updated and disabled the Intranet access for Guest 1 again, and so far everything seems to be working again. 👍

    RT-AX86U Guest Wifi Issue

Since it's a known issue and only recently broke, has anyone heard from Asus when it might be fixed in firmware?

    RT-AX86U Guest Wifi Issue

Same here since the newest firmware on my AX86U Pro (I have a non-Pro as a mesh node). Firmware 3.0.0.4.388_24198. I narrowed it down to DNS not working because the Guest network must go through the primary router for DNS, it won't pass along DNS servers directly (e.g. 9.9.9.9). Can't even ping...

WiFi speed drop with Asus AiMesh when roaming back to main router

Wondering if anyone has heard of something like this happening. My wife and I both have a Galaxy S21, which support WiFi 6, and see the same problem. I have two Asus AX86U routers setup as a Mesh with ethernet backhaul (2.5Gbit line). The really strange thing is you can roam from the main...

"Wireless Log" doesn't show AiMesh node connections

IP address. It just shoots me back to the main router.

"Wireless Log" doesn't show AiMesh node connections

Yes, but thats not what I'm looking for. The Wireless Log screen in Merlin displays lots of useful statistics about client's Wifi signal and capabilities. The AiMesh screens don't show this.

Performance of dual AX86U in AiMesh, on Merlin 386.1

What device are you speed testing on? I only just setup my AX86U yesterday and run a few iPerf3 tests from my Galaxy S21 going to my Ethernet connected desktop. With line-of-sight to the router (like -40db), I think I got about 650 to 750 mbits, with my S21 showing a link-rate of 1.2Gbps. Since...

"Wireless Log" doesn't show AiMesh node connections

I just setup my AX86U and AC86U with Firmware 386.1_2 in my first AiMesh setup, AC86U as the node via Ethernet backhaul. But I noticed that any wireless clients on the AC86U node don't show up in the Wireless Log page on the main router. And from what I can tell with AiMesh, I can't access the...

Performance of dual AX86U in AiMesh, on Merlin 386.1

I'm guessing thats what the XXX / XXX numbers are circled in red in the picture, up/down mbits maybe?

News TRENDnet’s New Ethernet-Over-Coax Adapter Announced

Why get this when MoCA 2.5 adapters are available at a similar price?

MoCA effectively operates at half-duplex internally? Performance using 3+ devices?

Very informative answers, thanks everyone! I'm really wishing MoCA 3.0 was finally out by now, but it seems to have hit delays. But I think a MoCA 2.5 setup will work well for me, at least to maybe get Wifi Access Points on all 3 floors of my house if thats what I need.

MoCA effectively operates at half-duplex internally? Performance using 3+ devices?

I'm preparing to buy a new house and planning out my network. It was built in 2003 and has coax outlets in just about every room, so I'm thinking MoCA will be a good solution for me, at least until I can evaluate the possibility of running CAT6 everywhere. I've been spending the past week...

    Needing replacment for dying E4200

Thanks! It definitely seems like a popular model. I've already been doing some reading on the forum. I was sad to see that it apparently has a bug where it wont power back on after a scheduled reboot?

    Needing replacment for dying E4200

I went ahead and got the Asus RT-AC86U. I'm sure I can be happy with that for a good number of years. By the time I want to upgrade again AX routers will be cheap and many more client side devices will actually support it.

    Needing replacment for dying E4200

My old Linksys E4200 is starting to give up the ghost. It's randomly rebooting once or twice a day on the stock firmware. Shibby Tomato no longer suits me sadly, as it has very limited routing performance, topping out at around 100Mbit WAN routing, and has no NAT Cut-Through option to get around...
