So I should just go through all the existing 3500 screens and write down all the settings (blocked sites/services, schedules, port forwards, address reservations, etc) by hand and re-enter them into the 6400? -

As stated in the title, I am upgrading from a NetGear WNR3500L to a NetGear R6400. I'm trying to think of the easiest way to set up the 6400 for my current network. Is it possible to load a WNR3500L configuration file into the R6400 and have it work? Thanks! -

Yes, mine does. Before I attached it to my network, I tried a direct connection between my computer and the TP-Link. I disconnected my computer from the router, so the router would not be handing out IP addresses. When I did that, the 192. address worked and I was able to access the web...- wootcat

The 2 items connected to that switch are a Mac mini and a Sony Blu Ray player. When I have the switch out of the loop, I plug the ethernet that normally feeds the switch directly into the Mac mini and leave the Blu Ray disconnected. I will try the switch with nothing connected tomorrow... -

Okay, so I bought a new switch. A NetGear GS105, ProSafe metal 5-port Gigabit switch. I plugged everything in and within 2 minutes, I had the same problem. The entire network went down. I unplug it, and the internet comes back. Any clues? -

No, just one long Cat 6 going to the GS605. In the past ( and right now ), when I run the network without it, I don't have the problems. I had been running without it for several weeks, then added it back into my network 2 days ago. And then tonight, the problem re-occurred. -
