    Best new router for Merlin?

Thanks to everyone for your views! I just got an AX86U and, so far, I am VERY happy with it. The CPU cores are not spiking as often as on the AC66U_B1 (and I get two more cores!), performance seems and feels better, in all, a happy transition! Now I'm going thru the new features of this model...

    Speedtest giving strange value

By the way, just to chip in with my experience, it seems I was having issues due to CPU spiking. After a few days the router always needed a reboot to get back into proper speeds. I noticed the CPU cores spiking really bad when I was having issues. Solution: Bought an AX86U :P

    Best new router for Merlin?

on nice, interesting t hen, that's worth looking into! So via a wired link then using different channels, it should be alright?

    Best new router for Merlin?

Very detailed, thank you! And what would happen if I kept the old AC66U-B1 as an AiMesh node? Would that hinder the AX86U performance?

    Best new router for Merlin?

So besides the AX86U, what else is decent? Is there a cheaper AX option?

    Best new router for Merlin?

Yeah exactly why I mentioned this, it IS redlining, I get CPU spikes a lot. The router worked great for many years, I think it's due time for an upgrade (and work can pay for it :) ) Thanks for your input, I'll start looking at that one, but hope others chip in with their views too!

    Best new router for Merlin?

What does everyone think is the best new router to get for Asus-Merlin in a heavy bandwidth home office/home setup? Our AC66U B1 seems to be struggling. What's the difference of the AX line?

VPN Director not applying rules to right VPN profile

Yeah but not my case, this is why I said, my provider (Nord) uses only 10.7.x.x and 10.8.x.x (10.7 is TCP, 10.8 is UDP)

    Speedtest giving strange value

Well, that just isn't it. Finally after a few hard restarts, this looks normal (showing basically the same results as from the client). I don't know what it is, but feels like every now and then the router just decides to make everything bog slow, and nothing solves it but a restart. Nope, no QoS

VPN Director not applying rules to right VPN profile

So I happened to run into this issue. My VPN service only gives out local IPs in the 10.8.X.X or 10.7.X.X values. Is there any way I can fix this for the time being? Anything I tell VPN Director to route through Client 2, gets routed through Client 1.

    Speedtest giving strange value

Yeah the test is not going thru the VPN (I also turned the client off), it's going thru WAN. And I chose the same server on both. It's like it's showing 10% of the speed. Here's the results I just pulled: vs:

    Speedtest giving strange value

I noticed my router now has a Speedtest built into the WebUI and decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, it's giving me the wrong value on download speed. I don't understand why. if I test from my laptop going to speedtest.net, I get ~200Mbps download, 30Mbps upload, which is what I supposedly...

    Problems running VPN server...

All already posted in this thread's first post: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/problems-running-vpn-server.61769/ Anything. A computer, a service. Nothing works. It's set to LAN only. So no. I don't want Internet access. [edit] i tried something else. Without the VPN, I opened a web server...

    Problems running VPN server...

Hello it's me again with this problem, I had given up then and came back to it again recently and still cannot figure it out. I have a few questions: - I have firewall enabled in the router, would this be impeding the access to the LAN while connected to the VPN? So I need to do something with...
