Need advise please.

How come when I connect my PC direct (wired) to the Optical Network Terminal (ONT), I'm getting 900+ up & down but when I'm connect via PC -> ASUS 87U -> ONT, I'm only getting 290+ up & down.

I am on the latest Merlin's 378.53 firmware and my NAT Acceleration is set to Auto.

Is there anything else that I need to set on the router? Thanks.

Don't expect these consumer routers to be able to route at 1gbps. Your PC is likely a lot more powerful. Things like the firewall all add additional overhead for the relatively weak cpu in the router.

We use $50k routers for 1gbps routing. You may be able to get 1gbps if you convert a pc into a router.

my AC68u can only achieve 150mbs initially on a 500mbs subscription.

A factory reset bring it back to full working condition.

also look into your iptables list as the table list may hinder NAT Acceleration.

My bad. Initially I limit my QoS to 300Mbps. After removing the limits, I'm able to go beyond 900Mbps.

Thanks to everybody who replied :)
