2.4Ghz Dropping on RT-N56U

Then the RT-N66U is our winner. :)

Have you loaded the latest firmware from Asus and maybe also Padavin's firmware?

Did you do a restore defaults and turn off the power (pull the plug) manually instead of just rebooting it?

Did you enter any settings you need manually instead of do a 'restore' which would negate the above 'restore to defaults' step?

Did you try to cool down the router with a small fan (at least as a test...)?

Did you try an older firmware that was originally working on your router?

Also; with the above; delete your network settings for the wireless on each client and setup a new SSID and password?

Are you using WPA2 Personal as the security mode?

Trying the above in a thorough manner may get your router back to a working state.

I'll add my answers inline.

Yes, I also tried Padavin's firmware, same issue.

Did you do a restore defaults and turn off the power (pull the plug) manually instead of just rebooting it?
Yes, issue persisted.

Did you enter any settings you need manually instead of do a 'restore' which would negate the above 'restore to defaults' step?
Tried this, still saw the issue.

Did you try to cool down the router with a small fan (at least as a test...)?
This I have not tried, the router does not feel very warm, if I can find a small fan I will give this a shot.

Did you try an older firmware that was originally working on your router?
Yes, still saw the issue.

I have not tried this, why would this make a difference?

Are you using WPA2 Personal as the security mode?
Yes

Setting a new SSID and password and deleting/not using the old one in clients is one step of ensuring that the old settings are really cleared from all devices (router and clients).

Use any fan you have to test for overheating for now - even a big one.

And, to do this in a thorough manner:

Delete all client's network credentials.

Do a reset to defaults, manually remove the power from the router, let it sit 'off' for a few minutes, flash a current firmware, let the router sit idle 'on' for a few minutes, do a reset to defaults (same as above) and now only enter a new router password and change the default ssid and password to something new. Don't touch any other settings...

If the 2.4GHz signal still drops - try disabling the 5GHz radio as an additional test.

With it now cooled and setup from scratch, if it still drops the signal; time for a new router.

If there is bad client in the network, the result with a new router will be the same, hence my advice is still to check individual wireless rates.

I don't now what clients you are using for wireless, but if you using the laptop, did you try to change the laptop wifi adapter drivers?

Right after the box I had wireless droppings of RT-N56U...These dropings were after the trying files transfering and torrenting. I found out it was due to my laptop wifi adapter drivers...some communication problems. I reinstaled to the older one, and no more dropings after that.

Had the same issue with the RT-N56U. Happened right after updating to the latest firmware on the ASUS website. Not sure what firmware I had before but it had been awhile since I had updated. Random WIFI disconnects confirmed with WIFI analyzer on 3 different devices. I ended up getting frustrated and buying the RT-N66U. Great router but dont download the latest firmware. I am using .276.
