so, i have had a d link dir 655 for about 4 years now, i am one of the people lucky enough to have the b2 hardware (i think thats code name). I have always used it in the same room as my turtle beach x31 headset, my headset uses the 2.4 band to send audio from my xbox to the headset wirelessly. i could move 20 megs down on the d link and get basically 0 interferance, however i can simply connect my iphone to the 2.4 on the rt-ac66u, open twich(hd stream 2-3mbps), and immediately my headset starts popping and crackling like crazy. the other night it gave me the worst headache and made me feel like i was gonna get braincancer, i have the 2.4 completely off on the asus untill i solve this, and i have tried every setting u can think off
my question is, is this a problem unique to me
or do other users with the same router have this issue aswell
assuming they do, i wonder if this could simply be caused by the fact that this router has 450 2.4GHz and my old on only had 300.
or could it be just a simple problem with the 2.4GHz radio, i mean i knew the router wasnt wifi certified, but if anything, the AC should be the problem, not 2.4GHz N, wich i have no learned this router has none of the wifi standards certified, but when i went to wifi alliance i can see they already have there new flagship router (rt-ac68u) certified, is it not possible they still certify these models, or is it not possible after release, i feel this interferance issue would not exist if the router were wifi certified, i also think its possibly detrimental to my health as my ears and head ached for so long after being basically zapped by this router, if i get cancer im blaming asus, but kinda wanting to return this and wait for the new one, or just get the d link dir 868l and buy from a company that actually knows how to make certified products
