382 for RT-AC87?

I'm wondering why there is no 382 firmware for RT-AC87 R/U WiFi routers? Is AC87 not powerful enough or does it miss a key feature?

Also, would replacing my AC87+380 with AC88+382 improve the WiFi coverage and/or throughput performance?

I'm running the AC87 in access-point mode.
