3TB HDD keeps spinning animation..

Hardware: Asus RT-AC66U
Firmware: 3.0.0.4.374.34_2

USB HDD: Raidsonic Icybox IB-318StU3-B
HDD inside the Raidsonic: WDC WD30 EZRX-00MMMB0

Partition Table: GTP
Partition Format: EXT3

Ubuntu can see the drive and read/write from/to it.
The Merlin-WRT can see the drive.
I go into the "Network Place(Samba) Share / Cloud Disk where I see the drive
recognized. There's the "plus" on the left of the drive. I click
on it and there's a spinning animation signalizing something is being "loaded?"

It keeps spinning and never stops.

My Seagate Flexagent also has the spinning, for 1 second and then it's initialized, read, indexed..whatever it's doing there..

But the Western Digital in the Icybox keeps spinning and spinngn..

any reason why it does this? Like I said, Ubuntu 13.04 identifies the drive within a second.. and read/write works..

Found the reason..

Usually I boot into Ubuntu ob my i3770k, but since my wife was running Hackintosh on it, I thought I give this a try:

https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Initialize-OPTWARE

it says here: MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition

So I downloaded the latest, today 8.1.1 and used it to partition ext3 on the HDD..

For whatever reason, it doesn't work with Merlin-wrt..

I repartinioned the drive in Ubuntu with Gparted, and the drive comes alive in merlinwrt
in a second..

I then repartitioned again with the minitool.. no go.. doesn't work..
repartinioned again with gparted... works in a second..

So.. from my point of view, this minitool, as all windows software to handle linux/osx stuff, is not working very well..

if you need something to be done right..
use windows for windows stuff
unix/linux for unix/linus stuff
osx for osx stuff..

I ran into issues so often because I use Linux/Windows/OSX here in my home..
and each time the issue is related to incompatibility between the operating systems and most of all their basic underlying architectures..

need to get something done in some OS.. do everything in that OS..
If you don't have it installed, make a bootable USB for it..

Hope this will spare other "windows" users the "no go" with this minitool..
simply make a bootable ubuntu 13.04 USB.. that's the proper way
