About the problems of 2.4ghz link of n66u

osk666

New Around Here
I bought My n66u 2 years ago.
It has been no problem for a long time.
However, starting from two months ago,
the link of 2.4ghz became very bad.
Before, the 5ghz speed is from 8MB/S to 15MB/S,
and the 2.4ghz speed is from 10MB/S to 17MB/S.
Now, the 5ghz speed is from 6MB/S to 18MB/S,
and the 2.4ghz speed is from 200KB/S to 1MB/S.
The stability is also very bad for the 2.4ghz link.
In this two month, I have tried many firmware, including the newest official firmware, merlin, and tomato usb, but all of them work like the same.
So, what can I do to fix this problem now?

I look at connection rate.
It shows that it just has 72mbps which is very different from 300 mbps that I saw before.
I have tried adjust n only, 40mhz, tx power to the max, but they seem to be no difference.

Have your clients changed? Do they have updated drivers? Have you deleted the connection profiles on them and re-associated them to see any improvement? Have you changed any of the default values on them? Do you have them set to 'Auto' vs. a fixed/set connection rate?

On the other hand; has your wireless environment changed beginning two months ago?

Try using inssider to see what other networks are tying up the 2.4GHz band in your immediate area.

Thank you for answering.
My client devices do not have any changes during this period.
And the connection rate is set to Auto.
I also have tried to change it, but still no difference.
My home have more than ten devices including windows, android, and ios devices using this wifi. They all reported signal down at the similar time.
And for the 2.4 ghz environment, I don't think the interference of 2.4ghz is worse than before.
At first, I don't see a increasing number of wifi which can be detected in my neighbourhood.
Then, I use bluetooth headphone which is also using the 2.4ghz channel everyday in my home. The connection status does not show worse than before.
Therefore, I think it is a problem of the hardwares inside the n66u.
How can I fix it?

If you're convinced that the environment has not changed, it may be time for a new router?
