Hi fellow Asus-Merlin users, I have recently stumbled into this issue. I have my NAS linked to the AC-68U running the last Merlin version 384.5, via 2x1Gb lan cables, to the same router there is a pc linked via 1 Gb lan and several devices via wifi, phone, tv, laptop. The laptop has an intel dual ac8625 wifi module with latest win 10 and latest version of intel drivers 20.60.0 . I recall that some time ago my download speed from the NAS over the 5 GHz wifi ssid was somewhere around 50-70 MB which was satisfactory for me as the laptop was one room away ~6-8 meters and having a 10 cm brick or concrete wall in between. As it happened, I downloaded a big file on the laptop and was shocked to see the wifi speed of max 5 MB. I checked with Inssider as I thought that maybe the channel got overcrowded so I had to move it, and saw the max rate being 54 Mb. Strange as the wifi properties shows the adapter connected at 866 Mbps
I am not sure if this wifi issue is caused by the latest Win 10 update or what is the problem. If I change to the same ssid over 2.4 GHz I get 450 Mb Max rate and indeed downloading the same file is fatser as it gets speeds between 10-13 MB. If I do a speedtest via 5 Ghz I get around 10 MB download speed so it is a bit puzzling from where the NAS download limitation comes from. If I am downloading the same 3-4 Gb file via lan from the PC I get constant speeds of 100 MB so the NAS is not in question. The 5Ghz sits alone with no overlapping channel as you can see from the picture. It is the laptop driver, it is the win 10 update? Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed.
