ac66 not running full available speed..

Hi

anyone had issues with the asus ac66 not delivering full wan speed?

I have fiber-cable from isp.. which, at the isp end, is set to 1000/1000 (I pay for 90/90 but who am I to complain :) )
there's a router from the isp from where I run a cable to my asus.
I have static IP from ISP and I run the asus and the isp router on 10.0.0.* and my home lan from the asus on 192.168.1.*

If I hook up my laptop to the isp router I get around 500/800..ish.. from speedtest.net

If I plug the same cable into the asus and hook up my laptop, via cable, to the asus.. I measure around 200/200..

so the asus seems to be doing something it shouldn't.. or at least something is wrong somewhere. :-)

Any ideas?

You have to make sure you don't enable any feature that will disable HW acceleration, such as QoS or URL/keyword filtering.

Is hardware acceleration enabled?

is he running the firmware with multiple levels of HW acceleration?

nevermind, iirc that's the ac56/68

I've heard of jumbo frames causing problems when it's not enabled on every piece of networking equipment you have (and sometimes even then). Have you tried running the test with and without it and seeing if it makes a difference?

tried disabling jumboframes..
same issue..
very strange behaviour.

Unfortunately I don't have another router to test with.. maybe I can find one to test if it really is the asus that's causing the problems..

Any other ideas will be most welcome!

Hi,
Is there a reason you need to run two routers?
