AC66U Wireless Issues

Hiya,

I have a AC68U which I use as my main router, running the latest Merlin Firmware.

I also have a AC66U running in AP mode. I am having issues with this one though, whereby after a day devices fail to connect to the wifi (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz). A power cycle fixes it for another day and then it's rinse repeat. This has happened with the last few firmwares (both Merlin & Asus).

Going back to 3.0.0.4.374.979 (stock Asus) fixes the issue.

No idea what's going on, nor how to troubleshoot the issue!

Have you tried upgrading your router, performing a reset to defaults, manually entering any settings required (do not upload a saved config file) and rebooting it a couple of times?

In addition; you will want to remove or 'forget' the connections on all devices that attach to it. Then, re-associate them again. This is after doing the steps above.

Thanks for the reply..

Whenever I do a firmware update, I hard reset the router, and manually configure from scratch. I also delete the wireless config on my phone. It doesn't fix the problem unfortunately :-(

Edit : I did just notice that the time zones on the AC68 and AC66 were set differently to each other - not sure if that may cause an issue so just set the AC66]the same as the AC68.

Just to say, the problems seem resolved now that I made sure the time zones were set the same.

Thanks for confirming that. Having all devices on the same network on a common time (or offset) solves many issues.

Glad it worked for you too.
