AC68U height and heat problems in a cabinet?

JoQ

Hi,

I'm about to purchase the new AC68U router (discounted on a store here in sweden today). I had a N65U previously, which had heat-problems and shut down quite often. The N65U was standing on the floor (not shut in or covered, so heat shouldn't be a problem).

The new router AC68U will be in a cabinet on top of my fridge. This cabinet is only 21,5cm (8,4") high. From what I understand the AC68U is 16cm high without the antennas. Will I be able to fit it in this cabinet? If I position the antennas to not take up vertical space?

I will drill a hole about 5-6cm where the cables come in to the cabinet, this will also provide some fresh air for the router.

Will I have trouble with heat? Anybody who has their AC68U in a cabinet of some sort?

To clarify, the cabinet is about 60x60cm wide, it's only the height that is limited. And this router can't lie down vertically from what I understand?

Please help me out before I make the purchase!

Thank you!
