is there a way to access the router settings GUI from WAN? (ASUS AC66U)
Also what is the most secure settings I should use if I allow this feature?

Administration/System Enable Web Access from WAN

Alternatively (& more secure) setup VPN server on your router to which you can then log into from WAN. Once logged in you can access the webgui same as you would as if you were at home..
