Adventures in ipv6 subnetting in SDN

not to hijack this thread but i spent the last 60 hours trying to fully transition to ipv6. what a bear! i like how it can support hostnames and the added security but i had to edit dnsmasq.config.add and maintain one too many scripts for activation/reinitialization. goo-gobs of stuff. made me really appreciate eric's work.

so, i've decided to wait for the full ipv6 implementation in the ui whenever that may hapen, cause i'm working quite well these days and prefer the ease of use.

I experimented with a similar script a few weeks ago, and it worked pretty well. Please post your version - maybe we can refine our codebases into a proper working solution

P.S. It's a bummer that we need to create workarounds just to get IPv6 working with SDNs. Such a basic feature. Probably the first real issue I encountered with Asus routers.

Asus routers have never been intended to be used at such high levels of configuration; the assumption has always been if that’s what’s required, the investment in more suitable equipment will be made by the user. Think plug and play rather than network admin.

I’m fantastically happy some of you are willing to show Asus their assumptions about IPv6 and resulting implementation are flawed. And shine a light forward for them to follow, because it will trickle down to their customer base who are after plug’n’play. This is how acceptance spreads and transition accelerates.
