AI Mesh with 2.5Gb backhaul?

Have a AX-86U and AX-88U, and considering buying a AX-88U Pro because it has two 2.5Gb ports.

The question I have is can one of the 2.5Gb ports be used for the WAN connection to the ONT, and the 2nd 2.5Gb port be used to connect a wired AI Mesh backhaul to the AX-88U?

Would this work or are wired backhaul connections limited to 1Gb ports?

Works like gangbusters, at least substituting GT-AX6000 for the 88 Pro here, as the "feeder".
