AiProtection - IPoE vs. PPPoE Connection

I dropped Prism TV a few days ago, and my connection was changed from IPoE to PPPoE with a username and password. When I did, I noticed my 1Gbps download speed would max out at only ~300Mbps. I did a factory reset and my speeds returned to normal. One by one I started adding back my settings and running speed tests until I determined AiProtection was the culprit. Does anybody know the technical reason why AiProtection dramatically slows down PPPoE download speeds, but IPoE would be unimpeded?

I have everything the same as you except 80mbps down connection. Have you set these on your modem?

AiProtect disables hardware acceleration since it has to inspect each packet. Without hardware acceleration, the CPU using is software inspection and can only handle those types of speeds.

Maybe AiProtect was not working in your last setup.
