AiProtection URL Filtering

Does anybody know how the Malicious Site Blocking works in ASUS's AiProtection? Does it only block HTTP sites, or does it also block HTTPS sites? I only had ever seen it block HTTP, so I was assuming it couldn't block HTTPS...but then I wondered if that was just coincidence. I tried to search through the forum, but I may have missed the answer somewhere.

They use Trend Micro's database to filter known malicious sites: http://www.asus.com/us/AiProtection/

I guess what I found confusing that their site doesn’t explain is this. AiProtection will block the malicious download at wicar.org, but it won’t detect the ssl download. If it’s blocking the whole domain shouldn’t that be blocked?

"The protection is more precise than normal DNS-based filtering because it detects and blocks specific URLs rather than generic domain names."

I guess that’s my confusion. They can’t do that for https sites. So I would assume they only filter http site specific URLs. I read their material before asking. They just don’t say much. So I was curious if anyone had more in-depth experience or information.
