⏰: Can Merlin fix DST / tzdata for Western Canada?

I have no faith in Asus fixing the upcoming time zone issues by November 2026 for Western Canada. Can Merlin include an updated tzdata before this without much hassle on Eric's part?

I guess we'll have to do this with old Asus routers that no longer get firmware updates:
RegionThe "Broken" SettingThe "Fixed" Setting (Manual)
BC / Yukon(GMT-08:00) Pacific Time(GMT-07:00) Arizona
AB / NWT(GMT-07:00) Mountain Time(GMT-06:00) Saskatchewan

Might be nice if there was just a setting to disable DST. I thought I remembered there being one from the Dark Knight days, but my memory sucks.

Suppose one could just select (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time. Or select any other time zone that doesn't use DST. That should get rid of the DST section, at least it does on stock Asus 3.0.0.6.102_37421 firmware on an RT-AX86U Pro. Examples from stock Asus firmware with and without the DST section:

PS: Of course using a different time zone may or will throw off the local network time for any devices that contact the router for NTP/network time.

<sigh>It’s not a Merlin thing or an Asus thing.
Those provinces will have to update whatever authority it is with the reference database for asus to follow/update the today’s downstream. So for Canadians in those provinces…have fun.

I forgot that Arizona didn't observe DST changes, so if you live in BC you can change your Timezone to Arizona and call it a day. The Daylight settings options aren't accessible when set to that time zone.

😮‍💨 back at ya. Asus effed up and dragged their feet for well over a year after Mexico and South American countries reverted their times permanently.

That's what I did for Vancouver, BC, Canada, now permanent summer time...
Yeah, no more changing tons of clocks throughout the house and cars...older cars...
