Are we affected by this item ?

We? I guess that would depend on what devices you're using. This paper only looked at real time operating systems used in embedded systems, e.g. cars, internet radios, thermostats, etc. I think most home routers are using a Linux stack and are generally more secure.

Thanks a lot for yout reply. I am not familiar with this topic, I only read some stories in the local online newspaper and they mentioned, that router could be affected as well with the reference on the paper I attached. So my idea was to ask the expert here. I am using Asus Merlin on my RT AC 86u, and was a bit worried...
