Android 4.4 no internet on WIFI

Hi, I just got an upgrade on my cellphone to android 4.4 and now I can't connect to internet on wifi.
On WIFI I get connected to the router I can see my IP been assigned by the router but from the phone I can't connect to internet also simple web navigation is impossible.
From the android forum they tell me is a firewall problem ???
But before the update all was fine and is still OK for the others PC/MAC/cellphone we have.
I halso reset the phone and reinstall the update, same problem .

Any one have a clue on this ?

Seems like there are many problems with KitKat.

Any chance of being able to downgrade to the firmware you had?

Doesn't seem like much of a chance to fix this (with a quick google search) - downgrading is maybe the best shot of a usable phone (with wifi).

With the stock ASUS .4422 firmware and KitKat 4.4.2 on a Nexus 7, I do not see this problem. It would be probably easier to downgrade the router firmware to see if that fixes it than it would be to downgrade the phone firmware.

I found it was the Open DNS I set on the new firmware, using the DNS from the provider all works, also change to the
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
have the same effect.
So I'm going back to the default setting using the provider DNS.

Custom DNS should have no effect. I'm running custom 4.4.2 firmwares on my Note 2 and using my VPN DNS on the router has no effect on anything.

Had the same problem today. Turns out not the router settings is the problem.

Used the instruction on http://lethow.com/android/android-connected-to-wifi-but-no-internet-access/

Solution 2 (Remove battery while on, then put back after awhile) worked for me fyi.
