If I am asking this totally in the wrong please - admins please move - or if there is a better website for asking these questions - please tell me.
I am interested in HF2-SU3S2. I have a few questions.
1) Does the unit power down the drives not in use like they could be inside a PC?
2) How does the system handle inter-drive communication within the enclosure? It is through esata to the pc then back through esata to the other hard drive or is there a smarter more efficient piece of hardware you have incorporated to handle that?
3) If it does do the above (esata only) - which could slow it down - which would be the fastest for copying information between drives in the enclosure, a USB 3.0 connection or a esata connection (connected to a multi-port connector on my p6x58d premium motherboard)?
4) How fast is their USB 3.0 - is it up to spec? I ask this because many vendors are saying USB 3.0 but really they can get only MAYBE half the transfer speed.
5) Does it handle just sata ii drives or can you really handle sata iii speeds?
6) When will it support 3TB drives on this enclosure?
Lastly, if my questions eliminate this enclosure - do you have one that is closer?
