Asus 4G-N16 Telnet access

I want to access my recently purchased Asus 4G-N16 with Telnet.
However, default admin/admin doesn’t work.
No feedback from Asus.
Any hints would be very appreciated.

Took me quite a while to find this. That being said, I can't actually do anything once inside the router. Every command returns "operation failed: Permission denied".
