Asus BD5 Outdoor ZenWifi BE5000 Outdoor POE

Venom

Occasional Visitor
Hi All,
I am looking to find out if the Asus BD5 Outdoor ZenWifi BE5000 Outdoor while powered through the AC Power Cable and running as an Ai Mesh node wirelessly will then provide POE to the two ethernet ports? I would like to plug an ethernet security camera into the BD5 as the camera gets it's power from POE.
Thanks for any help.

No mention in the specs or marketing of the device "providing" poe power. The device can be powered by a POE+ port on a switch or ethernet power injector. It can also be powered by AC directly.

Get a POE+ 5 port switch and run the cables to the two devices.

will then provide POE to the two ethernet ports

If you look closely at the pictures of this device on ASUS website - the ports at the back are PoE IN only.

You need PoE+ (802.3at) power for this device. Switch or Injector. Don't fry it with Passive PoE injectors.
