ASUS BQ16 Pro and Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC)

I just read an article from ASUS on a test of AFC on one of their gaming routers and enabling it basically doubled throughput by increasing the power levels on the 6 GHz band.

More than double the speed? Through AFC, this WiFi 7 router aced our 6GHz torture test

So, I Googled whether or not the BQ16 Pro supported AFC and the AI says that it does under ASUSWRT 5.0 firmware. I think that this is what the BQ16 Pros came with but am not sure. The AI also said the option would be under Wireless —> General —> 6GHz so I looked in my router’s settings, but AFC is not listed there. So, I’m wondering if we don’t get this option in the U.S. or if it will come in a future firmware update.

Any insight into this would be much appreciated.

I just answered my own questions I believe.

I checked a couple of articles that Google AI linked to and found this:

[Wireless Router] What is AFC? How to enable AFC? - (United States Only)

It is, apparently, only currrently available in the U.S. and is only included in the GS-BE18000, GT-BE19000AI models right now. The article says that these routers will get AFC support for mesh mode in a firmware update so I am hopeful that we’ll see the same thing for the BQ16 Pros in the future. The article was last updated in December of last year.
